Jesus offers Peace

JESUS OFFERS PEACE OF MIND
A. HIS PROMISE OF PEACE...
1. He offers His Peace to His disciples, so they need not be
troubled nor afraid –
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

2. He says that "in Me" they can have peace, and be of good cheer
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
-- Thus Jesus promises peace that only He can provide!

B. HIS SOLUTION FOR PEACE...
1. Prioritize –
“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? Or, what shall we drink? Or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: ) for your heavenly father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

a. We must have our right priorities straight

b. Seek first God's kingdom (reign) and His righteousness

c. Make His will and His way our number one priority!

2. Simplify –

“And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: but one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

a. Martha was worried and troubled about "many things"

b. Many things can "choke" our ability to bear good fruit

c. Only one thing is really needed; we thus need to simplify

our lives.

3. Have faith

Matthew 8:26

“And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.”

a. Faith is the antidote to worry and fear

b. Jesus taught faith in God and in Him as the solution

c. Such faith comes from the Word of God –

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

4. Pray –

“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

a. Pray about everything

b. Pray with a thankful heart

**Jesus gives true happiness and peace that reigns in our lives and radiates to others.
The first step is accepting Jesus in your hearts and admitting of your sins
1. Sinners prayer
Romans 10:9-10
"that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with thy mouth confession is made unto salvation."

2. And continuing to live by His word and keeping His commandments

John 15:10
"If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

3. Spread the Word to others
Matthew 28:18-20
"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
