Why do we pray?

**Why is it important to pray everyday, and why does God tell us to never cease in prayer? The answer to these questions are simply because prayer is the communication line between us and God. For us to accomplish anything in life that comes our way, we must strategize and seek help from whom it matters most to, The Lord. The Lord states in His holy word that He knows what we need before we pray about it, but waits for us to bring it to Him as we acknowledge the situation at hand.
When we pray, it is to be done from the heart not so much in our minds. To clarify what I mean is, as we pray let us not talk to God as if we are robots, and speak repetitive without any meaning to the words we recite in prayer. Speak unto the Lord as if you are speaking with a friend, because He is our friend and cares so much for us. The Pharisees in Jesus’ time on the earth, only prayed to be heard by men, and sought for their attention as a show instead of glorifying God.
Below you will read (Matthew 6:5-15), where Jesus states on how we ought to pray. Pray for your basic needs as well as judging yourself (ask forgiveness for any sins you may have committed) to make sure there is nothing that is holding you back from walking a truthful path with Jesus. Also to reflect upon others who may have done you wrong, to not have a grudge against them, but to have a forgiving heart just as our Father in Heaven has done the same for you. **

The Lord's Prayer
Matthew 6:5-15
5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.11Give us this day our daily bread.12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

**Just as Jesus is always there for you when you need Him, If you ask anything in His name you shall receive. Sometimes He answers us immediately, it could take a couple days, weeks, or maybe even months, but there is always a reason, for it is all in God’s timing; which is perfect. God makes sure that while waiting for His answer(s) that we are comforted and reassured of His presence for He is faithful. **
Ask and ye shall receive
Matthew 7:7-12
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?12Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”

**God calls for us to pray for the times you feel tempted by satan in this world. When you pray for strength and endurance you shall overcome the tricks of the devil. For it says that the spirit is truly ready to do the Lord’s work, but the flesh is indeed weak in this world.**
Pray to overcome temptations of this world
Mark 14:38
Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
**Don’t be troubled and faint when these times occur but continue to pray to Jesus and He will see you through it, for He keeps His promises. **
Luke 18:1
“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”

**Jesus expressly spoke on how important prayer is by His disgust of how the temple was being done as He was walking upon the earth. Read below to Matthew 21:12-13…
Respect the House of Prayer
Matthew 21:12-13

“And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 13And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.”

**If you would like to give your heart to Jesus today, repeat these words below:
'Dear Heavenly Father,i come to in the name of Jesus; Forgive me a sinner and wash me in your precious blood. Make this heart of stone to be made flesh, so that your word may be sown in it. Any addictions that i may have, remove them now in Jesus name! I've accepted Jesus Christ as my savior and believe that He died and rose from the dead! And from this day forward, i commit my life to you and seek for guidance and understanding in your word, as i walk in your path of righteousness, In Jesus name i pray, AMEN!!!'

If you have recited these words and meant them in your heart, you are saved and if the Lord would come today, you will be ready to go to Heaven!! I will keep you all in prayer, to continue to walk in the ways of Jesus Christ our Lord. READ, PRAY, SEEK and TRUST in Him and you will overcome this wicked world! **

Fighting at war through Jesus Christ our Lord

 http://usat.ly/1UCV7qc
(Here is a link to the trailer "The war room")

Ephesians 6:10-18Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Before stepping out onto the battlefield that you’ve prepared yourself for, you have many questions that fill your mind. Months of practice, months of prepping yourself for the unknown, and now the day comes to see how far you’ve come. Before you open the curtain of your tent on base, and take your first step into the fight of your life, you ask yourself this one question out of the many that seem to flood your thoughts ;  Will you face this war alone or will you have an army to back you up? This question is something that I have had to ask myself many times before. The war I speak of, is living in this wicked world that is ruled by satan and his demons. As the believers of Jesus Christ profess the word of God in their daily lives, it is evident that as believers we are not of this world, but soldiers of the Lord.
Being a soldier is not easy, of course living in this world is not easy, but the soldier has the advantage of a commander in chief to help direct them in a plan to fight and conquer the enemy; that commander of course is Jesus. Those that are in the world are blinded by satan, but as soldiers of the Lord we are to lead the blind (unbelievers/sinners) to the one that can give them sight, and to remove the blinders  from their eyes.

(2 Corinthians 4:3-6) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 5For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
Do you realize how much power our God has? When he created the universe and all of creation, He used just His voice, that says a lot doesn’t it!
(Genesis 1:1-5) “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.”

When taking note of all what is written in God’s word, you can say that with everything that happened in each individual’s life, God was in control, and what he promised came to pass just as He made all of His creations. Shouldn’t this be enough to confirm that what wars we face in this world we are not facing alone when He is on our side?

(Romans 8:31)
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”

The times we are facing trials alone, is when you step away from God, and choose to make your own choices instead of what is intended in God’s plan.
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Let us seek for God’s will and what He has in store for us, and fight this war with full assurance of faith by the word of God!

**If you would like to give your heart to Jesus today, repeat these words below:
'Dear Heavenly Father,i come to in the name of Jesus; Forgive me a sinner and wash me in your precious blood. Make this heart of stone to be made flesh, so that your word may be sown in it. Benefits of Diligently seeking Wisdom

(Proverbs 2:1-22)
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;2So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;3Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;4If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;5Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.6For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.7He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.8He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.9Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.10When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;11Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:12To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;13Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; 14Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;15Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:16To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;17Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.18For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.19None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.20That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.21For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.22But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.”

I. QUALITIES OF A DILIGENT SEARCH FOR WISDOM

A. AS EXPLAINED BY SOLOMON THEN...
1. It requires a willingness
a. To be receptive to the words of others
b. To treasure (highly value and remember) commands of wisdom
2. It requires an engagement
a. Of the ear (willing to hear wisdom)
b. Of the heart (willing to understand)
c. Of the mouth (willing to cry out for discernment and
understanding)
3. It requires a high estimation
a. Seeking and searching
b. With the same fervor as seeking for silver and other hidden
treasures
-- Thus a diligent search for wisdom requires an "all out" effort
on our part

B. AS EXPERIENCED BY CHRISTIANS TODAY...
1. It requires hearing the Word of God
a. Note:  "incline your ear to wisdom"
b. Listening to preachers and teachers carefully (with all
readiness)
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
c. Studying the Bible on your own (searched the Scriptures
daily)
2. It requires meditating upon the Word of God
a. Note:  "apply your heart to understanding"
b. Taking time to reflect and ponder on the Word
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
c. Like the Psalmist sung of his meditations

 (Psalms 119:97-100)
O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.98Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.99I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.100I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.”

3. It requires diligent prayer for wisdom
a. Note:  "cry out for discernment...lift up your voice for
understanding" - Proverbs 2:3
b. We must ask in prayer with faith
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
c. We must persist in our asking
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”

4. It requires the same effort others expend seeking for material
wealth
a.  Note:  "seek her as silver...as for hidden treasures" – Proverbs 2:4

b. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and
knowledge
In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
c. Here's a simple test to see if you are expending the proper
effort to seek wisdom:
1) If you worked as hard for your employer as you do seeking
for God's wisdom...
2) ...would you have your job very long?
-- Finding God's wisdom today requires the same diligence it did
in Solomon's day

II. BENEFITS OF A DILIGENT SEARCH FOR WISDOM

A. KNOWLEDGE OF GOD AND HIS PROTECTION...
1. You will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge
of God
a. That fear of the Lord which is the beginning of knowledge
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
b. That knowledge of God, whose storehouse of wisdom and
understanding He gives to the upright
 Proverbs 2:5-7
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.6For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.7He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.”

2. You will have God's providential protection guiding your life
a. He is a shield to those who walk uprightly
Proverbs 30:5
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”
b. He guards the paths of justice (which the righteous take)
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.”
b.  He preserves the way of His saints
Psalm 121:5-8
The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.7The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.8The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

-- What a blessing to go through life with God at your side!

B. DELIVERANCE FROM EVIL MEN...
1. Who speak perverse things
2. Who leave upright paths, walk in the ways of darkness
3. Who rejoice in doing evil, delight in the perversity of the
Wicked
Proverbs 10:23
4. Whose ways are crooked, and devious in their paths
Proverbs 1:10-19
-- Wisdom can deliver us from evil men and their evil ways!

C. ENABLEMENT FOR RIGHTEOUS LIVING...
1. To walk in the way of goodness and keep to righteous paths
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.”
Psalm 23:6
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”
2. To be upright and blameless, to dwell and remain in the land
Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.”
3. Unlike the wicked and unfaithful, cut off and uprooted from the
earth.
Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.38But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.”

-- Wisdom can empower us to live more blessed, if not longer,
lives on this earth!
