Make a Joyful Noise
(Inspired by the Study of
Pastor Rolando Ramos)
1 Thessalonians 5:18-21
“In every thing give thanks: for this
is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit.
Despise not prophesying. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
** “Paul was not teaching that we should thank God for
everything that happens to us, but in everything. Evil does not come from the
Lord so we should not thank him for it. But when evil strikes, we can still be
thankful for God’s presence and for the good he will accomplish through the
distress.” **
The Joy of the Lord is
my Strength
Nehemiah 8:10
“Then he said unto
them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto
them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our
Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
Matthew 4:4
“But he answered and said, it is
written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth
out of the mouth of God.”
** “Jesus was able to resist all of satan’s temptations because
he not only knew scripture, but he also obeyed it. (Ephesians 6:17) says that
that God’s word is a sword to use in spiritual combat. Knowing Bible verses is
an important step in helping us resist satan’s attacks, but we must also obey
the Bible. Note that satan memorized Scripture, but he failed to obey it.
Knowing and obeying the Bible helps us follow God’s desires rather than satan’s.”
**
Ephesians 6:17
“And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God:”
**.. “To withstand the attack’s of satan, we must depend on
God’s strength and use every piece of his armor. Paul is not only giving this
counsel to the church, the body of Christ, but to all individuals within the
Church. The whole body needs to be armed. As you do battle against the rulers
of the darkness of this world, fight in the strength of the church, whose power
comes from the Holy Spirit…” **
John 4:23-24
“But the hour cometh, and now is,
when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in truth: for
the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship
him must worship him in Spirit and in truth.”
** “God is a spirit means he is not a physical being limited
to one place. He is present everywhere and he can be worshipped anywhere,
anytime. It is not where we worship that counts, but how we worship. Is your worship
genuine and real? Do you have the Holy Spirit’s help? How does the Holy Spirit
help us worship? The Holy Spirit prays for us, teaches us the words of Christ,
and tells us we are loved.” **
John 14:26
“But the comforter, which is the Holy
Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and
bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
