Why do we pray?

**Why is it important to pray everyday, and why does God tell us to never cease in prayer? The answer to these questions are simply because prayer is the communication line between us and God. For us to accomplish anything in life that comes our way, we must strategize and seek help from whom it matters most to, The Lord. The Lord states in His holy word that He knows what we need before we pray about it, but waits for us to bring it to Him as we acknowledge the situation at hand.
When we pray, it is to be done from the heart not so much in our minds. To clarify what I mean is, as we pray let us not talk to God as if we are robots, and speak repetitive without any meaning to the words we recite in prayer. Speak unto the Lord as if you are speaking with a friend, because He is our friend and cares so much for us. The Pharisees in Jesus’ time on the earth, only prayed to be heard by men, and sought for their attention as a show instead of glorifying God.
Below you will read (Matthew 6:5-15), where Jesus states on how we ought to pray. Pray for your basic needs as well as judging yourself (ask forgiveness for any sins you may have committed) to make sure there is nothing that is holding you back from walking a truthful path with Jesus. Also to reflect upon others who may have done you wrong, to not have a grudge against them, but to have a forgiving heart just as our Father in Heaven has done the same for you. **

The Lord's Prayer
Matthew 6:5-15
5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.11Give us this day our daily bread.12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

**Just as Jesus is always there for you when you need Him, If you ask anything in His name you shall receive. Sometimes He answers us immediately, it could take a couple days, weeks, or maybe even months, but there is always a reason, for it is all in God’s timing; which is perfect. God makes sure that while waiting for His answer(s) that we are comforted and reassured of His presence for He is faithful. **
Ask and ye shall receive
Matthew 7:7-12
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?12Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”

**God calls for us to pray for the times you feel tempted by satan in this world. When you pray for strength and endurance you shall overcome the tricks of the devil. For it says that the spirit is truly ready to do the Lord’s work, but the flesh is indeed weak in this world.**
Pray to overcome temptations of this world
Mark 14:38
Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
**Don’t be troubled and faint when these times occur but continue to pray to Jesus and He will see you through it, for He keeps His promises. **
Luke 18:1
“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”

**Jesus expressly spoke on how important prayer is by His disgust of how the temple was being done as He was walking upon the earth. Read below to Matthew 21:12-13…
Respect the House of Prayer
Matthew 21:12-13

“And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 13And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.”

**If you would like to give your heart to Jesus today, repeat these words below:
'Dear Heavenly Father,i come to in the name of Jesus; Forgive me a sinner and wash me in your precious blood. Make this heart of stone to be made flesh, so that your word may be sown in it. Any addictions that i may have, remove them now in Jesus name! I've accepted Jesus Christ as my savior and believe that He died and rose from the dead! And from this day forward, i commit my life to you and seek for guidance and understanding in your word, as i walk in your path of righteousness, In Jesus name i pray, AMEN!!!'

If you have recited these words and meant them in your heart, you are saved and if the Lord would come today, you will be ready to go to Heaven!! I will keep you all in prayer, to continue to walk in the ways of Jesus Christ our Lord. READ, PRAY, SEEK and TRUST in Him and you will overcome this wicked world! **
I have also provided a link to the Full Gospel Holiness Church below, where you will find sermons from the word of God (no comprising to sin) but the Full truth to the Word of God! You can also view our contact information to email us or call us for prayer. May God bless you!
